My Visit to Mahendra Zoological Park (Chatbir Zoo) Just a short drive from Chandigarh, the Mahendra Zoological Park—popularly known as Chatbir Zoo—offered me a refreshing escape into the heart of nature. It was more than just a zoo visit; it was a mini-adventure filled with fascinating wildlife, lush greenery, and a reminder of how wonderful our connection with animals can be. First Impressions As I entered the zoo gates, I was immediately struck by how vast and well-maintained the area was. Spread across over 200 acres, Chatbir Zoo feels more like a wildlife sanctuary than a traditional zoo. The morning sun streaming through the trees and the sound of birds chirping set the perfect tone for a day of exploration and adventure. The Star Attractions From majestic lions to graceful deer, this zoo is home to a wide variety of animals. The Royal Bengal Tiger enclosure was one of the highlights of my visit.
